Siemens has launched LOGO! 9, the new generation of its logic module and the first major update to the range in 11 years. Siemens opened ordering on 17 April 2026, with the first products available for delivery from 7 May. Availability varies by module.
What's new
- Double the capacity: up to 800 function blocks, twice as many as before.
- Colour touchscreen on display-equipped base units, with versions without a display also available.
- More I/O: the system supports expansion to 64 digital inputs, 60 digital outputs, 16 analogue inputs and 16 analogue outputs.
- New AM4 AI/AQ analogue module, with selectable resolution. The controller also now supports floating-point maths.
- New 4.3" text display for the panel door, with two Ethernet ports.
- LOGO! Soft Comfort V9 runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, installs from USB, and opens your existing LOGO! projects.
- Built-in security: Secure Boot, secure communication, and user management with four roles, so operators and engineers each get the access they need.
Why it matters
LOGO! has always been the go-to for small control jobs: pumps, lighting, gates and simple machines. LOGO! 9 keeps that simplicity but gives you far more headroom before you need to step up to a PLC. Check your existing project, module compatibility and the required software before upgrading.
